Ceramics studio in Asheville's River Arts District, founded in 1994 as the educational arm of Highwater Clays, offering week-long summer clay camps for kids ages 6-14. Morning and afternoon sessions run all summer in a 5,000-square-foot studio, letting young artists learn pottery and hand-building.

★★★★★Chris WWanted to have a birthday experience with a friend. The 1 on 1 lessons are totally worth it. Helpful Instructor and our pieces are great, for a couple amateurs! (if we do say so ourselves) They fire and glaze for you, but have quite a few types of classes and workshops, and pieces for sale if that what you want. Check em out. Parking stinks but it's Asheville, walking is the way if you can.

The staff create a supportive, inspiring environment for kids, and she always comes home excited to show off her projects. I also take a beginner’s group class (Shayna is wonderful) and even though it’s outside my comfort zone, the studio feels so welcoming and the staff are always helpful. It’s been such a joy to play with clay and leave my worries at the door. It’s a wonderful community space for both adults and children, and I highly recommend Odyssey to anyone looking to explore clay in a welcoming, creative atmosphere.
★★★★★Reagan P.Outstanding experience. I booked a 2 hour private lesson with my partner and we were able to produce 7 finished pieces between the two of us! Our instructor, Madison, was great at explaining and demonstrating techniques, and was with us the whole time for when we needed assistance. The space was beautiful with good natural lighting, and we were able to choose out of 4 glaze colors for each of our pieces. Madison will trim the pieces and glaze them, and they will be ready for pick up in around 2 weeks! Would absolutely come back.
