I’ve been coming to this club for 3 years and due to inappropriate actions and comments from the pros, I’ve decided it is in my best interest to not return to this place. On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, I was hit by a ball with my back turned after everyone had began picking up balls after the warm up and the ball hit me rather hard on my backside. The warm up had ended and we were preparing to start so I was picking up balls. The hit was very deliberate and I turned around because I obviously could not see who hit me and the only person looking my way was the pro Michael (Mike) one court over and he held his arms up high with a big grin on his face as to say he hit his mark. I turned back around to pick up other balls on the far court because again I couldn’t say for sure who hit me but no one apologized and then Adam was purposely hitting balls at me as he was walking towards me, one after the other about 4 total and I turned around and said stop hitting me and Mike, laughed and repeated what I said sarcastically, “she said stop, (as he laughed).” Adam also made a comment when I mentioned my 41 partner was a pilot, and that I might need a flight one day, he said, ‘he’s only going to fly you in a box’ and my partner responded, “we all have to go sometime.” I thought Adam’s comment was completely dark and inappropriate. I think my 41 partner at the time just responded without thinking about how inappropriate Adam’s comment was. There was another girl on the court named Clarissa that we were playing against and one of my shots hit her foot unintentionally, and later when my same 41 partner hit a shot in her direction, Adam said “you can’t hit her twice.” I found this disturbing as no one was trying to hit her but someone deliberately hit me with my back turned and Adam decided to continue to hit balls at my backside while I was picking up balls without ever apologizing. He only stopped because I turned around and walked past him to put the balls I had on my racket in the basket. I would be a fool to allow this behavior so the very next day, I stopped by to speak to Tim, the manager, about what happened to me. I told him of my experience the night before, where he was on court 4, Mike court 5, and Adam court 6. He stated those actions and comments by his pros were inappropriate, he said he would speak to them and he would get back to me. That was 4 days ago. I said to Tim, I could have just left after Mike laughed at me getting hit and After Adam hit me several times but that would not have been fair to the 3 other players on my court. I could have hit Adam and Mike back with the tennis balls but I know how it would look if a black woman hit two white men; I would have looked like the aggressor. I left right after 41 ended, I may have been the first person to leave the building that night and when I got home, I began searching for other clubs to play tennis at because I refuse to be mistreated especially while paying to play tennis. Thursday, 10/9/25 I spoke to Tim, the day after I encountered problems with Mike and Adam. Today is Monday, 10/13/2025 and I have already found a much safer place to play tennis. I will not be back and both Mike and Adam owe me an apology. Update**** 3 months after my review I saw Mike at my tennis club and we spoke and. Before I left he came to me like an adult and discussed what happened to me at Northland RC that caused me to leave my review. He sincerely apologized and I told him I accepted his apology. He said he would like for me to come back to the Northland RC and I said maybe one day, I’ll never say never. He is the reason that I left one star. If I could with the way Adam treated me, what he texted and past experiences like Daniel not responding to my text, and making excuses why he didn’t respond, I would have left zero stars. I decided to come back on 4/16/26 hoping things would be better after six months and after speaking with Mike but I was wrong and I do not need to put up with the foolishness from Adam and the ultimatum from Tim to delete my review in order to play there.
