North Coast Community Sailing offers youth summer sailing classes on Lake Superior at Thompson's West End Park in Washburn, run through Bayfield Rec. Programs include KinderSail for ages 4-7, Youth Opti for ages 8-12 and Youth 420 for ages 13-18, teaching rigging, boat handling, knots and seamanship. Week-long classes meet Monday-Friday, mornings (9am-noon) or afternoons (1-4pm), with need-based financial aid available.
