My family's experience with the Oklahoma Celtics, which is associated with the Norman Youth Soccer Association, has been extremely disappointing and feels like a scam. It's a classic money grab when you pay over $2000 to be a part of the Celtic Competitve Organization, pay over $400 for the uniforms, and I want to warn other parents. ​The tryout process is completely deceptive. They advertise three-day tryouts for their competitive league, but the teams appear to already be preselected. I saw several players who were not at the tryouts make the top "green" and "white" teams, which makes the whole process a waste of time for everyone else. Why tell recreational players to try out when you already have your teams selected? ​Instead of being transparent, the club created a third "black" team with the bare minimum number of players required to play a game. This is setting children up for failure. Our team was exhausted and couldn't even make substitutions, which is a major disadvantage against other teams that have full rosters of 12 or more players. When we had a player unable to attend, we were forced to find a guest player or forfeit the game. This is not how a legitimate competitive league should operate. ​The whole organization lacks accountability and transparency. I tried to file a complaint at the office, but the staff, including Jessica Knehans (who claims to be a director but is the registrar) and Trevor Hunt (who claims to be a director but is a coach), were dismissive. When I emailed Michael Thomas, the Academy Director, I received no response for over two months. The only person with a clear title seems to be the Executive Director, Jamie Smith. ​Finally, the poor management extends to the games themselves. I've witnessed referees tell a boys' team to not be aggressive when playing against a girls' team, yet they allowed the girls to play as aggressively as they wanted. It was completely unfair and undermined the spirit of competition. ​Overall, the Oklahoma Celtics organization is poorly managed, untrustworthy, and appears to prioritize money over the development and well-being of the children. Do not be fooled by their tryouts; this club is a complete waste of time and money.

Complex wise, in my opinion NYSA is the best in Oklahoma! Incredibly easy and ample parking now. Great fields that are lite well. Great view of the trees and nature around the complex. Close to the highway and convenience stores. Club wise, I can say this is a very competitive club at the top level. Quality coaches and players. I love how they grow the kids beyond just soccer through things like the leadership program.
