NorCal Trail Rides is a horseback riding stable in Anderson (south of Redding) offering a kids' horse summer camp along with trail rides, lessons, and horsemanship clinics. Camps teach horsemanship and riding skills; children must be over age 8 to ride out on the trail, while younger kids can take arena lessons. Operating since 2008.

I hadn't ridden in awhile and the owner Alicia made me feel comfortable getting on a horse again. She had patience, took the the time to listen to me and always answered my questions. I took 5 lessons and went on 5 beautifully scenic trail rides. Alicia is an exceptional person and I think of her as a good friend. Alicia went out of her way to make sure I had the best experience possible. I had a special request for a sunset trail ride and even though she hadn't did one in awhile she made it happen for me. This is the kind of person Alicia is. She let me spend some extra time brushing the horses as well. I became a regular there and I miss it. I hope I'll be able to come back again next year, happy trails!

It was such an incredible, fun and confidence boosting experience, that she continues with lessons today, three years later, with both Alicia and trainer, Kim. All of her staff is very skilled and knowledgeable and excellent with both children and horses. Fast forward, our daughter, as well as myself, boarded our own horses at Alicia’s ranch for a couple of years before moving them to a place of our own. I’d do it again in a heartbeat! The NorCal family took such great care of our babies as if they were their own. Now, three years later, our daughter and I still ride and take lessons today from both Alicia and Kim.
