Niles-Buchanan YMCA
Private
The Niles-Buchanan YMCA runs a summer day camp with ten themed weeks of field trips, physical activity and games, plus pool swimming and waterslide time during the week. Transportation is provided from pre-care to the branch and from the branch to post-care, as well as between home and camp. A non-refundable $75 per child deposit is due at registration for each camp week and is applied toward that week's fee. Financial assistance is available to families who qualify. It is a branch of the YMCA of Greater Michiana.

We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Niles-Buchanan YMCA directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleThe first two weeks were great and then one day Lisa was working and told me I wasn’t allowed to use facilities because she thought I was homeless and then I found out she was talking about me to her coworkers, one that happens to be a friend of my family and told me everything, and then one day she told me I had to vacate the building by 9:30 she has singled me out twice because the way I look, I told Lacey she’s been hateful and pulled new rules out of thin air twice now that only apply to me and me only, Lacy pretty much called me a liar then she called me the next day and left message saying all the information I gave her is correct but that’s all she had to say, I’ve never been looked down on and treated like trash from anyone ever the way I have been from Lisa, IDK why the YMCA would give that woman any authority
I have been a member for about a year, and I'm thinking of canceling because the pool STINKS and gave me BV that required antibiotics. The warm water therapy pool was the biggest draw for me signing up. But I can't actually use it for more than an hour a day, because Corewell physical therapy has dibs on it from 9am-5pm. Then when I finally made it one evening, it was lovely UNTIL a lady who hadn't showered got in and STANK it up! I could smell her from across the pool and in the water. It was nasty. Her hair was dry, so she clearly had hadn't showered, and they still let her in. Lifeguards need to get some gumption to enforce the rules, because this is a public health hazard. I might keep my membership for the classes, if not the pool, but I work and they don't have many classes on the weekends. It's more early morning or daytime for retirees. I do love the sauna! That is very helpful for my immune system. I just don't know if it's worth paying $85 a month just for sauna use.
Awesome place love the people great personalities great services from physical therapy to childcare swimming lessons and they do different events for the elderly and others as well
Great pool and it's usually quiet in the mornings, but there's an older woman at the front desk with bangs that is typically rude and obviously doesn't like working in the mornings. Not exactly a good look when you're first walking in to be greeted with attitude.
I joined this YMCA in April 2022 and have since had two of my kiddos attend Young Adventure Camp, Summer My Way, GSRP at Northside, Must Do Mornings, youth basketball, swim lessons and accelerated swim lessons, Ballet (at the Benton Harbor-St Joseph location), and the Thanksgiving Run. We go an average of 7-20 days a month and I personally love attending the group classes Zumba and Zumba Toning with Heidi and Kickboxing with Kendall. I've had a few issues hereand there with the childwatch but overall it's a very good experience and the staff are incredible and helpful. Just communicate openly with them, have your child use the resteoom prior to dropping them off (or change their diaper) and leave them with a snack everytime. Those are the main things I do to avoid issues, along with attending consistently so they know my children and the kids are comfortable there. We love swimming in the Warm Therapy Pool during family open swim. The sauna is also nice (adults only). We're going to try soccer through the Y in the spring and I want to try Kids Night Out at some point as well. I recommend participating in events like Healthy Kids Day if you can and doing their 5K's to support different causes. Our youngest is having a birthday party there in November with one hour in the pool and one hour in a reserved space. I reserved early with the front desk and paid in advance. She's very excited. I'm overall pleased with my experience and I don't see myself cancelling anytime soon.
