Powered by GoogleI've been coming here for 20 years and it's been great but this year I've had two ridiculous events that have really come across as unprofessional and ridiculous. First on March 17 I was playing basketball with my friends like we do every single week for over a decade and at 930PM I went to use the bathroom and it was locked. This was already super unprofessional as it was since they close at 10, but then after that one of the staff came up to us and berated us, telling us to get off the court since "no one ever leaves on time" at like 950PM. Not only that, they shut off the gym lights as well. She was extremely rude and sassy and unprofessional, and this was unfair since the gym closes at 10PM like it always has for my entire life. I sent a complaint in obviously super upset and didn't even get an automated reply to this day. Then, today I'm also playing full court with my friends as usual every single week Tuesdays Saturdays Sundays and one of the staff comes up to us saying there is family complaining about not having space the court to just shoot around. There was only one family on the side shooting and I was like okay sure I understand. I was a kid here before once too and I've had tons of negative experiences having to sit and do nothing on the sides since there were 3 courts running. Although nothing was ever done for me, it's great that they are now trying to speak up. However, firstly (and I will say this has happened earlier in the year as well) the staff never approached court A to bother them about stopping to make room for the families. I asked her why and she said "because the two courts B and C are scheduled for youth and family". I checked the schedule and only court B was for youth and family while court C is scheduled for nothing. So this was just blatant racism as court A has big African American players playing and she was too scared to approach them. She lied to save face. I asked her since there was only one family if we could just leave that court for them open and play full court in the middle court and she said no still, claiming "I have the authority ☝️🤓". I think it's ridiculous that for one she lied; second, that one family had priority over the 30 other people trying to play on TWO COURTS. If you want to be treated as a human being, don't come here. The staff here are openly racist, rude, and have no regards for hospitality and their guests.
Best gym! It's always clean and well kept. Great workout classes. Great variety of machines. Their machines are also high end and very new!
Always very clean people are polite and and it's huge sauna pool several locker rooms and ton of personal training rooms for different things so much more they even have a kid zone kids can be dropped off for the adult workouts it's absolutely wonderful and many more activities and more I haven't listed great place 1,00% recommend!
Our family had been members since opening day and initially loved it. Over the years, the customer service has severely deteriorated. A recent unnerving experience with management just tipped the scale. It makes me really sad to write this because we’ve had many wonderful memories here but the staff is unkind and unprofessional. Additionally, they persistently ignore safety issues raised about equipment. So after 18 years of membership we decided to leave. It’s not worth the disrespect and there are better gyms. Invest your money and time elsewhere.
Carmel has a great community center. Lap pool for the adults, a big pool for kids with a beach like entry; even two water slides. Basketball, racquetball, jogging track, exercise equipment/weights. Nothing is left out. Outside they have a really good playground, and impressive splash park to cool off in the summer. Lots of classes and group activities. Really a great facility to take advantage of. It's extra nice since the renovations are complete.
