Metropolitan School of the Arts runs a range of summer arts camps and intensives in Alexandria. MSA Camp is a full-day, one-week camp for ages 8 to 12 with classes in theater, dance, vocal technique, visual art, theater production and choreography, ending in a final-day showcase; Mini-Camps are half-day sessions for ages 4 to 7 built around dancing, singing, crafts and story time on themed activities. Older and more advanced students can add a Music Theater Workshop (9+), a Ballet Intensive covering pointe, classical repertoire, Pilates, partnering and character dance (10+), or a drop-in Dance Lab. Registration is open to beginning and returning students; camp is day-only with no overnight option.

Powered by GoogleThe summer program was decent. Multiple issues with the homeschool program (cruel, rude students whom are not addressed immediately, bullying). Musical theatre class on Fridays 4:45 to 5:45 is posted but students are released at 5:25 and 5:30 regularly so students are not actually in class for an hour.
Great teachers!!! Ms. Colleen is especially good with the littles! She helps foster a life long love for dance. Ms. Jennifer is well loved in our family. Her talent and dedication to her students is inspirational.
Metropolitan School of the Arts is a fantastic organization; their classes, teachings and instructors are second to none. Our daughter has attended for the past few years and as a family, we really enjoy the whole experience. Initially, we lived nearby and have since moved a bit further away. We decided the 25 minute drive to the school was worth it because we all enjoy it that much. Their productions are top notch as I was personally blown away by amount of effort and the creativity behind these performances. The arts are such and important part of culture and contribute more to our world than most realize. I'm glad we have such a wonderful performing arts organization in Northern Virginia. Thank you MSA!
The adult fitness classes at Metropolitan Dance are great! The instructors are top-notch and I personally love the barre and yoga classes. They also give you the option of taking class in studio or by Zoom which makes it super convenient. Try them out, you wont be disappointed!
I take yoga at Metropolitan Dance and love it. The instructors are professional and classes are small. After having taken yoga at five other centers /gyms I was delighted to find a true yoga studio. Melanie and Marion are excellent instructors!!!
