Melbourne Yacht Club runs week-long summer sailing camps for ages 8 to 17, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A separate half-day Guppy Camp (9 a.m.-noon) introduces ages 6-7 to sailing on day sailors. Campers learn sailing fundamentals on the Indian River Lagoon on Florida's Space Coast.

★★★★★Zoe LThe beginner adult sailing class offered by the Melbourne Yacht Club is amazing! No one in our class had ever sailed before but the mix of classroom instruction and getting 4 days out on the water definitely set us up for success. Brian was our instructor and he was so knowledgeable and patient. You can tell he really likes what he does and he made it an experience like no other. The classroom sessions are used to learn terminology, knots, and techniques to use on the water. The class is only 4 people so when it’s time to sail it’s everyone and the instructor on a 22 ft sailboat doing everything from putting the sails on to getting to practice everything that you learn in the classroom. The class also concludes with the receipt of a book of skills from the US Sailing Association and all of the skills we learned were documented. If you are looking for a unique, fun, challenging experience then this class is for you!

I would recommend this camp to all families! My kids said that the camp was very easy to learn! I suggest you sign your kids up for 2 Weeks or more! The sailboat on the bottom is drone footage of one of the sailboats! Adventure camp has so much to offer! There is a very fun kayak adventure with plenty of nature to explore! And a luxurious sailboat ride!

This clubhouse is very nice. Each person in my family has benefitted by being active here, gaining confidence and experience on the water and making friends. There is always someone around willing to teach you. Being a part of this club is a great way to stay young.
