I enjoy the Wellness pool. It is heated and around 88 degrees daily. Plus, they have a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi in the men's locker room.

Hot Jacuzzi in Men's dressing room broken. Jacuzzi on pool deck broken. High power hydro therapy jets in Wellness Pool not available M-F due to swim lessons. No hydro for me, no membership fee paid! There is no other high pressure hydrotherapy jets available in Fred to heal old bones and tissue.

Let me tell you, the Massad YMCA is the most dysfunctional place for youth basketball. We signed up to do fall basketball, and had to pay extra for not being a member ($120). The last couple of weeks we have had multiple canceled practices due to them double booking with no chance at making it up prior to games. They had to reschedule one of our games multiple times due to double booking an event. They canceled the all star game last minute that is not being made up. Now we were supposed to have practice tonight, show up and nope they double booked it with volleyball. I emailed their director last week with absolutely no response, of course. Clearly they do not know how to do an effective schedule. So now our kids are the only team rolling into playoffs this weekend with no practice. Just so beyond disgusted and pissed.

I recently took my 2-year-old grandchild to the water park at the YMCA, and unfortunately, we had an upsetting experience with a young lifeguard on duty. My grandchild went down the frog slide the wrong way. As expected, the lifeguard came over to correct the behavior. I acknowledged the concern, explained the correct way to use the slide, and helped my grandchild understand. Shortly afterward, my grandchild went over to play near the turtle in the water. The same lifeguard approached us again and told us that children were not allowed to play with the animals in the pool area. I asked politely if this rule applied to all children, as many others appeared to be playing freely with the water features. Rather than answering, the lifeguard abruptly walked away. Later, I spoke with the supervisor and explained that I had simply been trying to understand the rules, as the interaction with the lifeguard had been dismissive and unclear. What concerns me most is that while my grandchild — a child of color — was corrected repeatedly, I did not observe other children being stopped from engaging in the same behaviors. This raises serious concerns about the fairness and consistency of how rules are being enforced. I hope this can be addressed to ensure all children are treated equally and respectfully at the facility.
