Mary Lena Gibbs Community Center and Gymnasium at 6974 Wilson Blvd serves the Sweetwater/Cedar Hills area of southwest Jacksonville and operates as a City of Jacksonville summer camp site, extending its weekday hours to 7 a.m.-6 p.m. during camp. The site has an indoor gymnasium with four basketball courts, a football field and playground equipment, and a capacity of 165. Formerly the Cedar Hills National Guard Armory built in 1957, it became a city recreational facility in 1996 and is named for Mrs. Gibbs (1914-1973); it also houses the S.O.S. charter middle/high school and the Sweetwater Athletic Association youth football and cheerleading program.
