As a woman of God and a grandmother of two little ones in the program, I feel compelled to share why Gymnastics Unlimited in Jacksonville is such a special place. We drive almost an hour each way to get here, and it is worth every mile. What makes this gym stand out isn't just the gymnastics; it is that they are unapologetically Christ-centered. From the moment you walk through the front door you see Bible scriptures on the walls, but it goes deeper than just signs — you can feel the Spirit of Christ and a true sense of family in the building. I recently witnessed something that touched my heart. A young girl spoke disrespectfully to her mother, and Coach Jennifer stepped in immediately. She spoke to the child with the love and authority of a family member, asking, “How would that make you feel? How do you think your mom feels when you talk to her that way?” Then she lovingly directed the little girl to go and apologize. That moment showed me that family comes before gymnastics here — they truly live the idea that it takes a village to raise a child. They even teach and model respect from a biblical perspective: “Honor your father and mother” — Ephesians 6:2–3 (NIV): “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” That verse is lived out in how the coaches care for and correct the children. This gym has been part of the community for a long time. I heard from another parent how the building suffered a fire years ago, but everyone came together like family to rebuild stronger. That spirit of determination and overcoming adversity is passed down to every student. The girls work hard — from 3-year-olds learning coordination to teens flipping through the air like the next Simone Biles. If you want your children or grandchildren to learn hard work, respect, determination, and how to get up and try again—rooted in Christian values—Gymnastics Unlimited is a wonderful place. This is my daughter’s second year competing with GU. We are happy we had the opportunity to joined this gym! The coaches are simply amazing, more like family. Everyone one is very passionate about the sport and genuinely loving. My daughter has improved so much. She is absolutely thrilled to go to practice five days a week. Our daughters love this place and all the coaches! We as parents also love that they use inspirational Bible verses for motivation.
