Unfortunately, my experience was not a good one and I’m rating it 3 stars due to the instructor, who had never taught before and was very unprepared. IMO, Kimball should have one of their staff sitting in or asking the teacher to give them a class as an “audition” of sorts. My perspective is this is more guided painting than true instruction. I gave the education department feedback on the class before writing this review in hopes they would respond with something more than an invite to complete a survey. I’m not looking for a refund but the $275 was a complete waste of money not to mention my time. Perhaps recognizing that I was not the only dissatisfied student and offering a small discount and invite to take another class would be a welcome offer. Because of this experience, I would not take another class at Kimball. I’ve heard there are a couple of great studios in SLC though.
