Kids Across America is a Christian overnight sports camp near Branson (Golden, Missouri) that serves urban youth from across the country, using sports and urban arts to share its faith message. Founded in 1985 as an independent nonprofit that grew out of Kanakuk, it offers camp weeks plus a two-year Higher Ground leadership program for high schoolers. Activities include basketball, baseball, football, cheer, dance, swimming, ski tubing, zip-line and spoken word.

★Charnese AndersonThere are serious safety concerns at this camp. I am aware of a case involving sexual assault, which is deeply alarming. Leadership should be held accountable, and stronger protections for children are clearly needed. How are parents still sending their kids here.

★Grace Dalla CostaIf you have food allergies/dietary restrictions/eating disorders. I do not recommend coming here. I had to bring my OWN gluten free food because the camp could provide inclusive meals but they chose not to. My first year, I literally ate salads and chicken. My second year, I had to bring my own gluten free food in a cooler from home. The cooler ended up getting left at the camp. It really made me feel left out because i had to heat up my food while everyone else had prepared meals. It also caused a lot of stress for my parents as well having to prepare a week of food that a camp could provide.
★Jordyn Ariannawas brought here as a 12 year old kid summer of 2007 with my church, (church under the bridge Waco tx) that had us all sell suckers in the heat of Texas, to get the money to get us to k.a.a…… and my camp counselor Seth Dorrell used a bad situation (my breaking camp rules) to have an excuse to make me run and over exert my energy making me run till I couldn’t anymore and i collapsed so he could force himself on me. He made me believe what happened to me was something that I deserved for breaking camp rules. Has left me with a lifetime of painful trauma. I’ve already had the dorrels flat deny everything what he did but I don’t honestly care about finding justice for myself but if I can save anyone the pain that I endured here as child, i sure will. my advice is don’t trust your kids with people so eager to take them from you. that eagerness to separate you from you offspring should be seen as a sign of a predator at work.
