Powered by GoogleMy daughter was enrolled in the winter 2 season, but we ended up withdrawing her due to the lack of professionalism and communication from the directors. Was completely ghosted and ignored by Kyle Hogges when I expressed concerns about the facility and field conditions (no lines are drawn on the field at the Northland Socccer Box), which led to me withdrawing my daughter and filing a dispute on my credit card. It wasnt until AFTER the dispute that Pat Ozburn reached out trying to get an understanding of why I wanted to withdraw. He was also copied on my early emails to Kyle and equally ignored the emails until now. After I again, expressed my concerns about the lack of professionalism and field conditions he said "Not sure what lines on the field has to do with anything". Its clear that they dont actually care about teaching indoor soccer. Lines on a field, especially with goalies involved (with kids aged under 7), are extremely important and a BASIC expectation in youth soccer. Finally, his last email to me when I expressed that my credit card company had already refunded me and my withdraw was final, was: "Nice, I guess I will pay the coach out of my own pocket then. The jersey is my gift to you." So yeah, thanks but no thanks, Pat.
Most of the time our son’s team had no subs or only 1 during outdoor seasons. Despite many parents speaking up, nothing much was done to address it. The Individual skill focus wasn’t bad, but games were filled with players doing skills without rhyme or reason. Overall, this club felt like a money grab. Pretty disappointing and my son is having a much better experience elsewhere now.
They have indoor rec leagues but this place is at its best when your kid joins a club team. Their club teams also cover a wide range of skill levels so if you’re unsure how your child will compare to the others you’re in the right spot. They have a team for almost every skill level and there is always a practice available to your child to attend at any skill level
We participated in two sessions this year. The first session was great and the second session was absolutely awful. We left the second session feeling this place is more concerned about growing club teams than teaching new players about soccer. My 6 year old left that second session HATING soccer and refusing to play ever again because she wasn’t any good. We won’t be back and do not recommend kids new to soccer joining this league.
If you want your little athlete to learn confidence and love for the game then legends is the place for you. No club in the metro does a better job of teaching skills with the ball as well as confidence in one's self. Both are things that all footballers need. The staff is friendly and competent. The indoor facilities are unique compared to what other local clubs have.
