★★Uncanny Recovery

I think one of the largest problems with this facility is the fact that there is absolutely positively nowhere to park. Been going there for tournaments for 3 years now and there is no parking whatsoever and even people coming into the tournament let the parents know ahead of time that there's absolutely no parking at all. Some people park so far away they're literally at the interstate and walking for miles to get in there. There's not really a lot of seating it's extraordinarily loud and they're always never on time with games starting and finishing. The price is for the food and the food is good but the rest of the facility is a ridiculous hot mess. It's a nightmare to be there during a tournament.

Very chaotic and loud on those volleyball tournament days. Earplugs are a requirement if you want to make it through the day. This place has no devices or panels to soften acoustics. Just hard surfaces combined with bunch of screaming kids and referee whistles sounding off non-stop for hours. The air conditioning is nice and cold but the parking is atrocious to say the least. If you show up first thing in the morning it's not that bad and you can park across the street along the eaves but if you come late or if you're scheduled to come in the afternoon then good luck finding something without a little hike involved. They are definitely a stickler about outside food so be thoughtful on how you intend to smuggle it in. Maybe come in first and feel it out before and see who's checking tickets. They do sell food at the concession stand but it's overpriced with limited options on top of being jammed up with a long and slow line stretched out around the corner usually. Timing is definitely your friend when it comes to purchasing food so plan accordingly if you can.

This is a nice place for kids games although very limited parking. They dont allow coolers or outside food allowed however dont have enough food for two day tournaments for the amount of people. Some people dont eat pork and by second day thats all they have. There is no rentry so those people have to go hungry. Kids need food when they are playing all day. Some days security allow kids to practice at the end of facility and other days they are all over them not to.

Very exciting and VERY Loud. Many courts playing at same time. Clean facility. Restrooms and concession stand available. Small gift shop with sport apparel inside. Bring Ear Plugs, you will want them. A stadium seat would be comfortable also.

Oh, JJVA. Where to begin? First I have to say this review will be in reference to attending a volleyball tournament at this facility. I know people who go to the club and are quite happy and their teams are always good. But tournaments there are not good and I will tell you a few reasons why. Let’s start with your arrival. Parking. All I have to say is, “Good luck!” (Well I actually have more to say than that) A venue should not be allowed to host an event if they cannot properly care for attendees starting with either providing a safe place to park, or having one nearby (public parking.) For those attending tournaments hosted by JJVA only the first very few to arrive get safe parking. The rest - well you’re the ones who need "Good luck!" People park everywhere, all up and down the street, backing off and onto the road, parking all the way down to the hotels. There is lots of traffic on that road. And so at night, guess what? What do you think dark street + people walking around on it + traffic equals? The little crosses/memorials along the side of the road should give you an idea of what has happened to people who have had to park there in the past. Why this is allowed to continue, why this hasn’t been addressed by either the owners of JJVA or by the city of Jacksonville when people have actually died because of this, I do not understand. (But I gue$$ the owner$ of JJVA have their rea$on$.) Then as an added bonus…for those who survive the parking - you may have to pick your car up at the pound. Yes! JJVA shares a building with another business which is closed on the weekends. Parking overflows into their parking which is fine on weekends, but a tournament in January 2024 carried over to a Monday and wow, whaddaya know?! People’s cars were getting towed! Not cool, JJVA. Not cool. But now why would a business do such a thing? Host an event they’re super proud to brag on Instagram about that they have over 100 teams there! Over 100 teams of 12 girls and so we’re talking possibly 1200 cars because Americans are all too “independent” to carpool. Why are they so proud to brag about this? Go$h! I ju$t can’t imagine what their motivation could be!? So now let’s talk about the children. Yes, children!. A volleyball tournament is a sporting event for…children! And when competing in sports what do you need most? Water. (No…whatever else you were thinking the right answer is water.) And oh…JJVA is happy to supply it for you for just $3.50 for 12 ounces of water at their conce$$ion$! And don’t forget the tip for the person who handed you a water bottle!! Like…are you kidding? They have vending machines which proooobably don’t charge $3.50 for one bottle of water (I forgot to check) BUT…those mysteriously each had a sign saying, “Out of Order” on them. Silly machines with their $1.00 water bottles! "Out of Order." Shur. Then let’s address the fact that if there would happen to be any sort of emergency like a nutcase with a firearm or a fire or even a rampaging herd of water buffalo - we’d all have been needing our own little memorials because it's SO overcrowded in there. Again I can’t believe it’s legal to have that many people in the building. You can’t hardly move. It’s so loud. And the seating is atrocious - and what’s ironic is that if any parents happened to get into a location the staff didn't like to watch their child play (after handing them one of those $3.50-bottles of water) the staff would lose their minds and tell them to move “because of safety!” Safety. There are memorials across the street where people have been hit by cars because of the parking situation…but we’re supposed to believe they care about safety? ANYWAY! Did I mention the staff is pretty unpleasant? Yeah. I’ll just put that nicely. The bathrooms were also pretty nasty. But hey! They bragged on Instagram that they had 100 teams there this weekend. And bragging about how great you are despite the reality is what the world revolves on these days, I guess. But really your clubs should find other tournaments to go to and stay away from here.
