Powered by GoogleMy daughter does recreational dance here and we have really enjoyed it! Being in a Christian environment is worth the drive and my daughter really likes her teachers. The Christmas recital was so well put together and the costumes were beautiful and modest at the same time. The studio is organized and keeps us informed which is so helpful for me. I also like that we can sit and watch our kids and get to talk with other moms while waiting for them. Only thing I could maybe recommend is maybe some get to know you activities for the recreational families to get to know people better and/or affordable Christian dance exercise classes if there is ever an open studio for the parents who are waiting for their girls to increase bonds and get us moving too :) Thanks for all you do there! We are happy we found you!
It is time for some new paint and general updating.
If you are looking for a wholesome studio where your child could receive a great dance education, steer clear of this studio. The technique level is extremely low compared to studios in the area. Especially for the cost. Their faculty isn't remotely involved in the industry nor do they teach or have affiliation for any known or established studios or companies. In the same way you would want to hire someone with experience you should try to hire people with at least an ounce of professional or high level dance experience. In my opinion, Injuries tend to be common with students here and that concerns. The overall experience here as well is dismal entirely. From the moment you enter, the front desk woman is the worst. Loudly will she talk in a very demeaning manner not only about certain parents but will discuss very sensitive matters of children’s financial situation in front of other children and parents. I found myself usually shocked by the overly disrespectful and insensitive things said. She is particularly rude and abrupt to people. Her husband the owner, is also albeit difficult behind the scenes, the gross conversation about children with difficult financial situations, as well as inputting advice for creative decisions that tend to only hold the team back. When choosing a good studio there are a few things to consider, are there any former students that are actively pursuing a dance career or high level dance path? Are there any resources that will help current students have assistance getting scholarships to colleges through their dance programs? Are the students exposed to many different forms of dance & teachers; allowing for a rich dance education? And in the case of christian studios, are good values and discipline a visible trait in all students or is it just a verse on the wall & “modest” choices? Unfortunately none of the listed factors were found at IHS in my time there. Sure, it is a nearby location and popular with students from certain schools. In surrounding areas you can find studios with a proven track record of creating incredible dancers, competing at much higher divisions of competition, and truly being worth your money. Would recommend- Shooting Stars- in Clermont, Radar dance Complex- in Ocala, or Dance Depot- in Umatilla. Shooting stars has a long time proven track record of incredible dancers that have careers and in a christian studio that lives out their values, countless Miss Usa pageant girls trained here. Radar is a new studio in Ocala with impressively trained students for such a new studio, the owners have relevant certifications and they are the studio to watch. Dance Depot is a far more chill yet truly welcoming and lovely studio with christian values where kids are pushed to learn and grow with teachers that really care. Amazing for little kids.
My daughter loved summer dance camp! She was challenged and had lots of fun learning new technique.
Great people
