The kids are fine. The adults not so much. They park in fire lanes and use language not appropriate for a kids event.

Today I went to go watch my son play. He had a very racist referee that kicked him out not once, but twice first she said it was his cleats. My mother ran to the store and got him the correct cleats. Then she tried to save his socks. He had the correct socks. I talked to a board member, Mr. Buckland, and he was not very receiving . When I tried to ask questions, I had a tall Caucasian gentleman that would not give his name stand in front of me, and tried to intimidate me, as if he was going to put his hands on me!! With no further information, whoever he was, he was trying to intimidate me from asking questions about why my son could not play today. My son has been playing and she’s the only one that singled him out the only African-American child on the team!

During the 2022 US Youth Soccer Eastern Presidents Cup, our team played the 05 Hulmeville Soccer Club. During the game, a Brazilian player called my son the N-word. The matter was brought to the attention of both the referee (during the game) and Hulmeville SC coaching staff (after the game). There was no apology or attempt to remedy the racial abuse. Upon exiting the Sports complex, I encountered the child and the parents and explained to them, in their native language, that their son showed lack of respect toward my son. Before I could further elaborate, the parents hurdle insults and attempted to engage in physical altercation. And to add injury to insult called me and I quote a “ugly monkey”! I want to emphasize that the action of this child and the parents does not represent the Hulmeville SC, as a whole, because several of the players (and a parent) exhibited excellent sportsmanship toward my son, after the game. With that being said, as a proud African-American, I find it inconceivable that a team would retain a player that disparages racial epithet toward opposing players. More importantly, as a proud American, I believe that parents, financial supports, sponsors, etc. of the 05 Hulmeville Soccer Club should be made aware when these types of incidents occur. Due to the fact that it does not speak to values that we hold dear in our country. This incident presented itself as a teachable moment for the Hulmeville SC coaching staff, but they completely missed the mark by not acknowledging the incident and/or attempting to remedy the racial abuse. A simple apology would have sufficed.

My kids have been with the club since 2015. We highly recommend this club if you are looking for a family-friendly, children-oriented place.

After having played for two years for this club a six year old girl was denied to play this year because her father coaches her older sister for another league. These are children, the fields they play on paid by us, the tax payers. When confronted at a public meeting board member Bill Fuller demanded the family "get out of here . You're not members." If you want your child playing for a egotistical discriminatory fraud....suit yourself. My kids will not play for this club and I will be sure other parents are aware of this matter.
