My husband & I got a 1 month membership, as we were there for 3 months and you have to get 1 month at a time. I was interested in spin class and rowing machine and my husband wanted the cardio stuff.I did 2 spin classes, each one with a different instructor. Both spin classes were like going to a coffee clutch. I could barely hear the music, the instuctors were having casual conversations with the 4 of us. I mean, I've never seen a spin class like this. I never broke a sweat and probably worked off 6 calories. BOTH classes were like this and one of the instructors was a Marine!!! Needless to say, we never went back. I sent an email to them describing, what I know is a one off situation and should have been told ahead of time that the spin class was just a social gathering of people that just happen to be sitting on a bike. I tried to be nice about it in the email, but also told them they need to tell people ahead of time that these classes are not real spin classes. I never got a resonse from them. I resent it after 2 weeks, and again no response. So much for Southern Hospitality...even though everthing else was wonderful during our trip. Everyone was so nice. So, I have no idea why this place would not even give me the courtesy of an apology or just thanking me for letting them know. I would never go back there & would not reccommend this place to anyone Just want to add that the center never responded to me, as they say they did in their response. I emailed the 2nd time asking them if they received my email and they did say, yes, they did and forwarded it to the proper person and I still never got a response. Long and short of it, no one responded in any way to apologize or explain why the spin class was not a spin class. But I do give them credit for a 3 day response to a bad review. I think that says it all.
Spectacular facilities everything beautiful and clean. Amazing park available for public use. For kids this park is phenomenal. The rec center has amazing youth sports programs. And adult leagues too. Everyone is helpful and community driven. Older kids helping younger grow to love sports an exercise. Water bathrooms a Pool even. So whether you want to buy a membership or merely enjoy the free amenities, there is something to be had for everyone
Amazing space for a workout. This centre has two floors, various rooms, a fitness centre, outdoor courts and a playground. There are also fitness studios with classes. In this review I am addressing the fitness centre which is on the second floor overlooking the basketball court. The equipment area can get a bit crowded if you have more than six people. However, there are a lot of cardio machines. There are two cardio areas, a TRX station (which almost never gets used), weight machines, free weights with a couple of benches, and a small stretching area. The only issue I have is the mirrors which look a bit like circus mirrors that make you look a bit wide. One more thing, the staff is amazing.
This is the most amazing rec center I have ever seen. It is new and has everything: pools, soccer fields, football fields, even lacrosse, volleyball, softball, baseball. Tennis courts. Pickleball courts in the back where some construction was going on. I was able to play even though I was a tourist. They have you sign a disclaimer online at the front office and pay a nominal fee. You can probably do that for some of the indoor sports and swimming. If you like a particular sport you don't have to forgo playing if you travel to Hilton Head. This place has it all.
