Heart of America Pop Warner is a long-running youth tackle football and cheer league serving the Kansas City metro (Jackson, Clay and Platte counties), with programs for kindergarten through 7th grade plus girls' flag football. It is a seasonal youth sports league rather than a summer day camp, though it occasionally hosts football clinics.

Be careful... independence hawks has a $350.00 release fee to play even if it's on a different pop warner team in kc area. We played 2 years ago with the Hawks but there were several incidents that were negative adult parents yelling at other kids on the team, adults yelling/almost fighting at other adults, an adult putting their hands on a child (police were involved.) Definitely not a positive experience for my child or myself. So we played for the Blue Springs Gators last year. Such a positive experience, tried to go back this year was told independence will not release us unless we pay a 350.00 release fee. On top of the pop warner registration fee. So disappointing that a kids organization that strives itself on "community" takes advantage of the players and now i have to tell my child he can't go back to a team he really enjoyed being part of.

Decently maintained fields, but the porta potties are pretty gross. We were also a little creeped out by the president of the HOA.

I’m giving one star because zero stars is not an option. From the time I enrolled my daughter in cheer, there has been close to zero communication from the coaches. No one seems to know what’s going on. I even emailed about the lack of communication and never received a response. It’s pretty sad because my daughter was so excited to be in cheer and because of the lack of professionalism, we have decided to unenroll her. Beware.
