They do a lot for the community but at the community center they fall short. They offer no programs for the young adults like between 25 to 40. Everything program is geared towards seniors. it's like a senior citizen center so if you looking for something that you want to be motivated like a real aerobic or zumba class,and as a young adult find a real gym. This place has nothin to offer in that regard.

Harbison is not a charitable organization. It is funded through MANDATORY ASSESSMENTS (in addition to the regular county taxes). Harbison does not exist to provide community services, it's sole purpose is to protect the property values of homeowners. The Harbison Community Association has lost the plot, it no longer understands it's purpose for existing. The majority of funds are spent in around the community center. But the majority of homeowners never use the amenities at the community center. The swimming pool, tennis courts, walking paths and pickle ball courts cater to outsiders who pay 8 bucks a month to use our amenities and can come and go as they please. Whereas homeowners pay $500 or more annual assessments and face legal action, liens and foreclosure for failure to pay. As a resident member, I find the association is not concerned about basic maintenance beyond the community center. The haves at the community center are funded by the have nots in the rest of Harbison. No resources are deployed beyond the perimeter of community center. Storm damage from hurricane Helene more than a year ago is still causing flooding today. This lack of maintenance detracts from property values. Management is indifferent and neglectful and fully aware of the problems. Mandatory assessments on residents increased 40% last year and are poised to increase again this year. You can live outside of Harbison and use the tennis courts and Olympic size pool for less than it costs to join the YMCA and contribute nothing to the recent 6 figure renovation costs.

This year was my family and i's first time coming to the event and honestly I think we will be attending each event thereafter it was so much fun walking the trails, crossing the bridge and stopping at every tent, meeting cool people, playing at the mini Park along the trail you name it we had a ball thanks for all of what you do. We can't wait for next year.

Saving Lives Through Ryan's Harbison Halloween Trail booth was a huge success. We reached over 400 children & their families, as we have for the last 10 years. Thank you Dee and Rae for all the hard successful work you put into this event every year.

I never thought I’d have to hear something like this in 2025, but during a tennis lesson, the instructor Coach Ted (an older white man) told a Black lady who hit the ball hard that she had “gorilla strength.” I was honestly stunned. That kind of comment is completely unacceptable and has no place anywhere especially not on a tennis court where people are just trying to learn and enjoy the game. Sadly, South Carolina still has its share of racial tension, but hearing that during a simple tennis lesson really drove home how much work we still have to do. It made the whole experience uncomfortable and left a really bad impression. I hope the place takes this seriously, because everyone deserves to feel respected and safe when taking lessons.
