What a fantastic experience. Captain Bob taught my 101 class, he was efficient and covered everything that was on the test. He made sure everyone had experience during sailing. Captain Jon taught my 103 and 104 classes. He made sure we understood all the things we needed to know. He was calm and patient, relaxed on the water. This was an exhilarating weekend! I’m so glad I did it and can’t wait to go sailing again.

Taking ASA 101 with Go Sail Flathead Lake was awesome! I just retired from 30+ years of teaching engineering and I can atest that Captain Bob should add to his titles Professor! He seamlessly mixed classroom and on-boat sailing, sharing his deep knowledge and experience. What was especially valuable was that Captain Bob added extra content to the course throughout the two days that he knew would be helpful to each of our individual sailing goals. Captain Bob is an experiential learning Master!

Mason and I took ASA 101 with Go Sail Flathead Lake this past weekend and had a great time! Neither of us had much sailing experience but the textbook and online materials provided ahead of time were really helpful in preparing for the weekend class. We enjoyed learning from both Bob and Chad who taught the classroom portion of ASA 101. Then for the actual sailing portion we were under Chad’s instruction. We had a great time learning from him, as well as getting experience with all the operations of the sailboat! We learned a lot and we look forward to continuing to sail, and completing our 103 and 104 with Go Sail in the future. Would definitely recommend to friends interested in sailing!

I had an amazing time learning to sail with Go Sail Flathead! As a complete rookie on a sailboat the teachers did a great job accommodating for a lack of knowledge. I was extremely worried about a passing grade due to my lack of experience in the curriculum, yet walked away each day with confidence not only in handling the boats but the terms, parts of boats, and the lingo that goes along with sailing. Christie, Chad, and John were great matches for each level of courses taken and I believe almost anyone with motivation for something new or even the lightly experienced could benefit from Captain G’s amazing school in a beautiful, quiet place to enjoy a great part of Montana! Definitely has planted a seed in this ‘sailor’ and will be working to expand my experiences and enjoy this amazing activity.

Had an incredible 2 days in the ASA 101 sailing course. The instructor was fantastic and I learned alot. Incredible training for anyone learning to sail. I feel 100% confident to go out on my own and be safe (and have a blast).
