Nature exploration camps at Galena Creek Regional Park south of Reno, run by the nonprofit Galena Creek Visitor Center. Day camps (ages 8-12) and overnight camps (ages 12-16) combine science experiments, hikes, crafts, games and field trips. Sessions run across the summer, roughly June through early August.

★★★★★Miss LadyLove Love this area. When you have to be in Reno but need grounding. This is the place to be. Away. Yoga is great on the grass by staging area. The sunrise is great at 7 am to feel the Vitamin D kissing the skin. Sundown time is great to wash away the mental junk that consumes our brain before bedtime. Release it early and rest well. The trails are interconnected throughout the mountain side.

Tall pines provide lots of shady areas so no matter what time of day you go it is comfortable. Connects to Marilyn's pond for fishing, many small trout are visible from shore. There is a great guided nature walk with downloadable guide to learn about the plants, animals, and geology of the area.
