Tempe-based nonprofit providing free, mentor-driven out-of-school programs and camps for youth ages 8-14 facing adversity, built around academics, athletics and ethics. Its Discover Your Future program runs two hours a week at 16 locations for grades 3-6, and it offers a one-week fitness and educational summer program focused on resiliency. Founded by former NFL player Rodney Smith, the organization runs on more than 850 volunteer mentors at a 1:4 mentor-to-youth ratio and is accredited by the Arizona Center for After School Excellence as a trauma-sensitive program.
