Powered by GoogleCamp Fortson is an awesome 4H experience! I brought a group of Seventh graders from South Georgia for a Life Science field trip and it ticks all the boxes!! They’ve been catching fish and bugs and tadpoles all week, one student had never seen fireflies before and caught so many on our night hike! I have loved getting to experience all these new things with my students. The EE instructors are so knowledgeable and bring such a great energy to each class! We will definitely consider coming back in the future
We took a group of 5th graders here for an end of the year event and it was wonderful. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and knows how to work with kids. The instruction wasn’t just environmentally aware, but considerate of life skills and civic duty. From team building to archer to dissection and ecology, truly a great curriculum. An experience I’d recommend to any group.
AMAZING experience! Our wilderness guide was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about nature and kids! The experiences we had were priceless! The kids and adults had a blast! Great spot for kids to go!
I truly LOVE Camp Fortson!!! This is my second year going with my students. Getting to spend time in nature is exactly what they need. The guides are very knowledgeable about each of the lessons, and great at connecting with the kids. The dorms are roomy, and the secluded teacher room within the dorm is a bonus. Lots of great life skills and lessons learned here for adults and kids alike. I look forward to this trip and hope to preserve this slice of nature for kids to enjoy for many years to come.
We had an absolutely incredible experience at Fortson 4-H Center today. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this place is something special. The environment is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly set up to connect kids and adults with nature in a meaningful way. What really stood out was how much we learned in such a short time. The ecology and ornithology programming was hands-on, engaging, and genuinely fascinating. It wasn’t just information, it sparked curiosity and made you want to keep exploring long after the lessons ended. The staff and leaders deserve a ton of credit. They clearly care deeply about what they do, and it shows in every detail, from how well the grounds are maintained to how thoughtfully the programs are run. They were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and great with the kids. This is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression. If you want an experience that’s educational, refreshing, and just plain fun, Fortson 4-H Center absolutely delivers. We’ll be talking about this day for a long time.
