Powered by GoogleThe staff and teachers are very kind. My children really love it, so we’ve been coming here for several years.
Really disappointed with the classes here. We only have worked with one coach so maybe the rest aren’t like this but after the first bad experience I called and they assured me that this coach didn’t work there anymore so we tried again and it was the same coach. My daughter was in a class for something she was working on getting and the coach was completely disinterested in her because she didn’t have this skill yet. I may be wrong but I assumed that’s what the class was for. She told my daughter to go do handstands instead and didn’t teach her the skill that I paid for and she was working hard to get. The next time was the same and she told my daughter (who is 11) that she needed to go to the cartwheel and handstand class instead (both of which she has obviously been able to do for a long time). Maybe this gym or just this coach is only interested in the advanced gymnasts that have been going there for a long time. I have found much better support from Great Lakes in Oxford. They worked with my daughter to get this skill, encouraged her, and gave her the attention she deserved. Edited to add: this was definitely not a safety issue this was a lack of interest on the “coaches” part. I’ve witnessed safe progression to get to a skill and understand that concept. If this was the case I wouldn’t be warning others about the issue. Hopeful you guys can improve and accept constructive criticism rather than deflecting.
We have been with fLipSpot for more than 10 years through Boys and Girls competitve gymnastics and Parkour. The coaches are dynamic and care about each athlete's progress. I appreciate the front staff accommodating our needs in a kind and friendly manner. We love fLipSpot!!
Our coach Jacob for the adult gymnastic class has been phenomenal, he’s patient and is dedicated to helping you reach your own personal gymnastic goals. The gym management goes above and beyond to make sure their customers are treated fair. Would recommend any adult looking to get some fun exercise.
We have invested significant time and money in lessons at Flip Spot, but unfortunately, the experience has not met our expectations for a high-quality gymnastics program. The gym is consistently overcrowded, which creates a chaotic and often distracting environment. Cleanliness is also a concern, as the facility is frequently very dirty. One of the most disappointing aspects has been the lack of a robust development program. Our daughter is highly motivated and demonstrates strong skills, yet she has become bored and frustrated at her current level. The reasoning provided for not advancing her has been her "form," but the instruction and feedback on form are minimal at best. On-the-spot coaching to help her improve is noticeably absent, leaving her without the tools she needs to progress. As a parent without a gymnastics background, I initially thought this might be a standard part of the process. However, our babysitter, who is a competitive gymnast, offered valuable insight. She was able to advocate for our daughter and assess the situation more thoroughly. Ultimately, she advised us to look for a gym that would better nurture our daughter’s potential and keep her enthusiasm for the sport alive. Our daughter loves gymnastics, and it’s disheartening to see her enthusiasm wane due to a lack of proper instruction and engagement. We hope Flip Spot takes this feedback seriously to improve their programs and better support young gymnasts in reaching their full potential.
