First Stage is a Milwaukee theater nonprofit whose Summer Theater Academy trains young people in grades K4-12 (about ages 4-18). Options range from one-week half-day sessions for the youngest to two-, three-, and four-week full-day sessions for older students, plus the Next Steps program for students on the autism spectrum.

My husband and I took our niece to see 'Emily Song and the Queen of the Night.' If you have never been to the theater, choosing seats online was a bit confusing since I wasn't familiar with the theater layout, but honestly any seat in the theater is great! The process of going through security and getting our tickets scanned was a breeze. The entire experience was amazing, and we will most definitely be back for a show in the future!

★★★★★WaukeshaGreat Christmas treat! Really enjoyed this rendition of “Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” We saw the “Kerpow” company of actors at the 12-3-23 Matinee. Nice brisk tempo, believable-funny characters and a mostly-appropriate treatment of Jesus’ birth being the reason for the season. Along the way we get a few heartfelt reminders to love our neighbor as ourselves - without being heavy-handed or saccharine. Recommended as a family outing, our 5 year old Grandson enjoyed it too.
