First Act Children's Theatre

First Act Children's Theatre is a year-round youth theater program in the Madison area that teaches acting technique, choreography, stage combat, vocal skills, puppetry, improvisation and creative movement. Its after-school production classes meet once a week for eight weeks at venues including Van Hise Elementary and Edgewood University, and its programs are grouped by grade into Stage Right, Stage Left and Center Stage. The after-school classes and five-day summer production camps end in a free, fully costumed performance for family and friends. The theater serves students in grades 1 to 12 and has awarded scholarships since 2000.
