The Erie Shores Council of Scouting America (Boy Scouts) serves youth across Northwest Ohio and runs summer camps at its scout reservations. Camp Miakonda at the DeVilbiss Scout Reservation hosts Cub Scout Day Camp with BB guns, archery, swimming, hikes, STEM and wildlife activities, while the Pioneer Scout Reservation offers resident camping, canoeing, climbing and more. Programs primarily serve registered Scouts.

★Sans Seed OilsI called to ask if they carried a 5 oz calibration weight. The employee explained the pinewood derby cars are supposed to be under 5 oz so the weights they carry are not 5 oz. I explained my kitchen scale was off so I need a 5oz calibration weight to zero out the scale and then weigh the car. She explained again that the cars have to be less than 5 oz so all of their weights are 2 or 3 ounces. So the employee was too dumb to understand what calibration means even after I explained it. I guess that means they don't carry them.
★Earl SmithIn my opinion they don't practice what they preach. They are more worried about protecting the company not so much the individual children. This is my personal opinion. Hopefully they can change for the better .

★★★★★Brad ReynoldsThe older my boys grow, the more they enjoy it. Same goes for me as well. I spent the summer camp with my oldest son last year at Camp Pioneer. The location is the same as when I was a boy but the program was shoulders above what I experienced in the 70's. After talking some with Matt Reinick of Council, I understand that is no accident. Erie Shores will miss Mr. Reinick and Sea Base has gained a great asset. The soon to be 2nd class Scout admitted to me at Christmas time he regretted a little home sickness, missed the sites, smells and pace of camp. Plus is looking forward to returning to Camp Frontier next summer. I can't wait either.
