Solid classes- from Pilates to advance boot camp workouts. Decent swim classes for kids and adults. Usually room in the lagoon for the kids to play and almost always a lane to do laps. Plenty of weights and equipment too for the self motivated!

We've been members of this location since we moved to Atlanta over a decade ago. We've had ups and downs in our experiences with the facilities and staff members. The Y is an important part of the East Lake and Kirkwood community and has many amenities, including access to an outdoor pool a few blocks away in the summer.

I love the East Lake Y so much! I especially love my stretch and more class with Miss Joy Feilds. For two years I was struggling with chronic back pain. I did a year of intensive therapeutic massage and chiropractic work and felt very little relief. That is until I met Miss Joy. Miss Joy don’t play and my community members who show up every week are true inspirations. This isn’t a class for the faint hearted. This is a class for people who want to change their lives, get stronger as we age, and do things you never thought you would be able to do at 20 let alone 40, 50, 60 , 70+. Some of my class mates are even recovering from major life events, like cancer and stroke. I have watched people come a long way in their journey and it’s a really supportive container to do hard things. If you get inspired to give this class a try here are a few pro tips. When Miss Joy say to give her 5 more. Just automatically put it your head to do 20. :) When she calls you out by name, remember she believes in you or she wouldn’t be saying anything. Lastly always listen to your body. At the end of the day she wants you safe.

There is a general lack of customer service and friendliness from front desk staff. On multiple occasions I have not been greeted when signing in, even after speaking first. I will say there is a pleasant young man who is sometimes at the front desk, but the shorter lady who wears glasses and one of the managers are unfriendly and for no apparent reason other than lack of training and personal awareness. Additionally, the manager at the front desk is rude and lack basic customer service and professionalism. I asked a question about membership for my mother and her tone was short and condescending as if I was supposed to already know the answers to my questions. She wasn’t wearing a name tag and I unfortunately didn’t get her name, but she has medium length brown hair. Everyone else that I’ve encountered so far, from the custodial staff to the instructors (stretch instructor Joy, and swim instructor Zoe) are awesome!

OK so I hope this is the right location, that has a Mrs. Tremaine. She was so professional and patient and made sure to give me 100% clarity. This by far was my best phone conversation ever . Her attention to detail and attitude was 2nd to none. Thank you so much Mrs. Tramaine
