The East Hartford YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater Hartford, runs Camp Nowashe, a traditional summer day camp for ages 5-12 from 9:00am-4:00pm. The camp features weekly field trips, weekly themes, a sports camp and specialty options. Before care from 7:00am and after care to 6:00pm are available at Mayberry School.

★NaniTwo scheduled tours canceled upon arrival. I scheduled a tour for a Monday to view their daycare facility. Unfortunately, they canceled my tour when I arrived because the some of the kids had diarrhea. Understandable and no fault of anyone, so I rescheduled and was given an appointment for later that week. When I came back on the scheduled date(two days later)they were closed and canceled my tour again. I was told that I would get a call before the end of the week to reschedule. No call. I called the following week to schedule another tour and couldn’t reach said person who does/schedules tours so I was told I would get a call back. I asked if they could please be sure I received a call being that the last time I was told I would get a call back I never did. I still have not received a call back and it’s been a week. Not only did I waste gas, time and childcare to arrive promptly to both tours, but my tour was cancelled both times the day of at the scheduled time. I’m also upset because I was told twice that I would receive a call back and emphasized the callback the second time around, and a week later still no call. Firstly, I would’ve appreciated if I could have gotten a heads up for at least one of the cancellations so that I would not have wasted time and gas getting to the appointment. Secondly, I would’ve appreciated if the communication was better within the staffing department so that I could’ve received a call back if not the first promise to call, at least the second. I had high hopes for my child going to this daycare but it seems that this will not happen since I am unable to get in for a tour as well as unable to get in touch with the staff.
