Des Moines Y Camp is a nearly 400-acre YMCA day and overnight camp along the Des Moines River near Boone, operating since 1919. Day camp is open to children age 6 and up, while traditional overnight camp serves youth ages 9-17, with a shorter mini-camp for younger first-timers. Activities include climbing, hiking, archery, canoeing, swimming, field games, and optional horseback riding.
