Davis Musical Theatre Company's Young Performers' Theatre is an all-volunteer nonprofit program for youth ages 7-17. Its four-week summer camp teaches acting, singing, and dance through theater games, improvisation, and scene study, meeting Monday through Thursday from 1 to 3pm. No experience is required, and the program suits both newcomers and experienced young performers.

Broadway-level vocals combined with innovative staging and a live orchestra makes every experience noteworthy. Right before Thanksgiving my son and I attended the Sunday matinee performance of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and it did not disappoint. It was a super fun show featuring an incredibly talented cast. They even made playlists for each of the spellers -- so clever! Their interactions with the audience really made this show stand out. I'm really looking forward to the next show!

★★★★★Jo JoOur first visit to this theater and a delightful surprise. My favorite part was the local hometown feel and friendly atmosphere. The cast welcomed the audience to come say hello after the performance which after SEVERAL other cities and numerous musicals this was a first! (Unless it is the last showing or you pay to go back stage.) Broadway talent, ...no. Best I have ever seen, ...no. However, what lacked in a few performers was well made up by the enthusiasm of all the characters in pure joy and love for what they were doing and it showed. Money well worth spending and we'll be back. 👍💗🎶 (I couldn't take my eyes off of the youngest performer which I later found out was her 1st time on stage. What a doll! Danced, acted, and sang through the entire show. Kudos! ⚘)
