Utah Avalanche is a shell of the greatness that it was once was. Most of the coaching talent has left. They can't attract enough players to tryout to fill their teams anymore. We had one coach for both of our kids over a course of two years straight. It was a money grab. He didn't teach them anything and used the "strategy" of kick and run. We had one good coach the year my daughter was on a top team her first year of 7v7. After that, this club was a disservice to my kids and held them back from being developed. One of my kids has since moved to La Rocca. Now she has a very talented coach. Do you kids a favor and try another club.

I just saw a couple of other similar reviews, so apparently this isn’t new. I was on a flight from SLC to PHX last night with an Avalanche team (around 12-13yo boys). I have coached youth sports for years and I get that it is tough to keep them behaving properly, but this team was unbelievable. I expect the bathroom humor and the high pitched screams from boys this age, but the offensive and disparaging comments about women were terrible. The worst part was the two adults (probably coaches?) traveling with them that never said a word. If you aren’t teaching them how to be respectful humans, does the soccer even matter?

Club is decent, the experience we had was poor, the coaches of the teams in the same age wouldn’t communicate with each other. Better teams wouldn’t be allowed to move up because they weren’t the so called higher colored team. They have lost a lot of good coaches and lost several good players due to the politics of the club. I wouldn’t recommend the club based on the experience had.

Where to even start. This was the first club we put our kid in, so we wanted to put him in the “best” we could find. This Utah county avalanche club was a complete and total money grab. For $1400 dollars a kid, they didn’t even have a bench seat to sit on or a gazebo for shade for the kids. Every other team did. Our kids sat on the grass. In the sun. And forget about coaching, there wasn’t any. He focused on his kid and made sure he played the whole game. The rest, were criticized. My kid left that team not even knowing correct positioning. They were completely horrible with the team management and communication. Even the “trophy” ceremony was emailed to the parents DAY OF, and at 4pm on a Friday. There was literally like 50 people that showed up. And what was even crazier is the trophy’s (if you could call them that) they handed out to these kids. Like $1400 a kids should have a better trophy than a 4 inch soccer player. We paid for the refs and everything else, so where did the money go? It was embarrassing. All this money to not even have a little bit of professionalism. I would never recommend putting your kid in this program. If there was a zero stars they’d get it. Very, VERY, disappointed.
