Code Ninjas Boerne runs Monday-to-Friday summer coding camps for kids ages 5-14 on the I-10 frontage in Boerne. Camps are half-day by default - a morning session from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and an afternoon session from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. - and families can enroll a child in both to make a full camp day at a reduced per-camp rate. Weeks are themed around game development, robotics and creative technology, including Minecraft, Roblox and LEGO builds, and the center also runs year-round JR (ages 5-7) and CREATE (ages 8-14) coding programs. Code Ninjas is a national franchise whose curriculum holds the ISTE Seal of Approval.

Powered by GoogleCode Ninjas has friendly and knowledgeable staff, a learning environment that is safe and welcoming, and a well-developed curriculum with excellent progression that allows students to learn at their own pace and in manageable chunks. My son is always excited to attend class and enjoys telling me about what he did and what he learned while in class. The staff provides excellent communication; and being able to both follow my son's progress and sample his projects helps me to appreciate the material that he has learned and how he has engaged with the curriculum.
Very structured, every lesson builds on the previous one, very helpful/patient/invested senseis, clean/well organized facility, good times offered for Code Ninja track, my daughter ends class thrilled about the new game/avatar she created or engineering tool she used (e.g. CAD software to draw a unicorn).
Game coding for kids is such a great way for them to develop a valuable skill set by doing something they enjoy. My son started two years ago when he was only 7, and Code Ninjas really captured his attention at such a young age. They really know how to hold the attention of these kids and make it fun at the same time. We love all the Senseis and the owners! They are attentive, patient, knowledgeable and make coding really fun. We also love the camps they offer during summer and holiday breaks. It’s a good way to dive into something they already love (Roblox, Minecraft, YouTube) from a different perspective. Last but not least, their Parent’s Night Out events are awesome! I’m offers a fun and safe environment for kids to get out and socialize with others while playing games (and not just video games)!
I think this is a great way to expose kids to a lifelong skill of coding. My son has fun and is always excited to go back and code more video games. This is a skill he will be able to bring with him into adulthood.
My son loves the material and the Senseis, while mom loves the background checks and Covid compatability measures!
