The Clyde Austin 4-H Center at 214 4-H Lane in Greeneville is one of the University of Tennessee's 4-H camps, open since 1949 in the mountains of east Tennessee. Campers swim (lessons are offered), canoe, shoot archery and rifle, work through a low ropes course, study wildlife and play field games; the property spans a natural spring, hardwood forest, wetlands and aquatic habitats and includes a fossils classroom with hundreds of specimens. Air-conditioned dorms sleep 380, and the lodge is also used for conferences.

★★★★★Stacy JonesBeautiful place. My grandson took his 4th grade field trip here. All the kids loved it. They got to go canoeing, learn about different animals in our area, even held a snake. Made a rocket and done archery.
★★EMy son won’t be going back here, he went to the fishing camp and hated every second, not only did they not do 90% of what was on the “schedule” and flyer, the staff was apparently not competent enough to watch the children. He came home exhausted because he didn’t get any sleep, according to my son the boys in the bunks were making sexual noises all night long and the gentleman that is in charge of the boys did nothing about it. He was so exhausted that he slept 14 hours. They were in heat almost all day with barely any water, ate one time, and didn’t have any structure. He didn’t even get to fish due to a group of teenagers that threatened him and the other younger kids, saying they would beat them up if they threw their line near them. My son said the adults got into the teenagers but they continued to do whatever they wanted. Paid $100 for nothing, if you’re going to make a schedule of events ya better do what you are posting. My son won’t even attempt 4h camp due to the lack of leadership and lack of adult supervision.
