Clarkson was great for my daughter that started dancing in 2nd grade until she became a teenager that had earned her way into higher tiers of competition. The relationship between teacher/studio and dancer/parent quickly became toxic as they continued to treat older dancers like kindergarteners, insult parents in front of classes full of students, and refusal to discuss schedule conflicts to the extent of yelling at parents in front of classes. My daughter was on their team to go to Worlds, a very high honor at the youth level of Irish dance, but as soon as there was a conflict with her highschool schedule and a workshop she was threatened to be removed from the team. When they declined to discuss this via email/text we tried to discuss it with them in person before class only to be further demeaned by the teaching staff, being talked over instead of being able to ask any questions, and yelled at when I tried to ask a question. Apparently saying “don’t yell at me” is what can get you removed from the school. I’m still allowing 2 stars for how well things went when my daughter was in elementary school, but parents be warmed. THIS STAFF IS TOXIC AND BORDERLINE ABUSIVE TO OLDER STUDENTS AND PARENTS There are other studios in town with more prestige and much better reputations for older more accomplished dancers

My niece dances at Clarkson School of Irish Dance and has absolutely flourished as a dancer! It’s joyful to watch her excitement at recitals and how she practices at home every chance she gets.

My daughter has been dancing at Clarkson School of Irish Dance for two years now. In that time, she has grown so much in her confidence and dancing abilities. Our daughter is learning valuable life skills such as responsibility, discipline and perseverance. We also love that the older students are encouraged to mentor the younger students through helping them at performances and during the summer camp. Starting out, I knew very little about Irish Dance but Miss Mary has always been willing to provide resources such as videos of the dances and answer any questions. I am proud to have an Irish dancer!

My 5 year old daughter is going into her second year at Clarkson. She adores the studio owner, Mary Clarkson. The cost is reasonable and I've seen my daughter advance very well under their instruction. My daughter also loves the technique ballet class she's now participating in as an intermediate level. We are really happy with all the fun opportunities she's had at Clarkson.
