Children's Harbor

The Harbor Family Center is Children's Harbor's Birmingham location, inside Children's of Alabama at 1600 6th Avenue South, and is home to its Counseling Center and its Education, Career Development and Transition Living Program. The education program is open to children and youth eligible for pre-K through 12th grade and up to 24 years of age, and covers tutoring in basic subjects, homework assignments, study skills and High School Entrance, GED, SAT and ACT test preparation, with school services provided through the academic year and the summer months. Free, confidential counseling is offered to children, parents and siblings in a private office at the center, in the patient's hospital room, in an outpatient clinic, or by telehealth. The center also publishes a monthly schedule of craft and story-time activities and offers a game room, basketball court, library, toddler play area, family kitchen, laundry, nap rooms and a salon; all services and activities are provided at no cost to patients and their families.
