Checkmate Lacrosse has provided personalized lacrosse instruction to Garden City-area children for 25 years, operating from 225 Cambridge Ave and running summer camps, clinics and a summer travel team across a range of age groups. Instruction is led by staff including Gordon Purdie, head varsity lacrosse coach at Adelphi University, who has coached Garden City youth players through the program for many years.
