Camp Zephyr

Camp Zephyr was a decent experience overall, but there are several areas that truly need improvement. The cabin lights need upgrading — they were dim and insufficient, especially at night. In addition, there are very minimal amenities around the area, which makes the facilities feel underdeveloped and lacking comfort for guests. The prayer garden was a beautiful idea and had great potential, but it needs more maintenance and care to look more reverent and well-kept. With proper landscaping and upkeep, it could become a truly peaceful and meaningful space. Lighting throughout the grounds is a major concern. More lights need to be installed, especially outside the tabernacle. It was extremely dark while we were standing outside waiting to go in, which felt unsafe and uncomfortable. Safety should be a priority. There should also be a restroom in the tabernacle area or built in the back area. Having to walk all the way to the café, particularly at night, is inconvenient for large groups. The food was decent, but it ran out quickly since adults were allowed to eat after the kids. By the time many of us got through the line, several items were already gone. Portions were sometimes too small for long, active days. To improve crowd flow, three serving lines should be open to move people through more efficiently. The salad bar especially needs improvement. For a large crowd, there should absolutely be two salad bars. Items were not consistently refilled, and popular choices like guacamole and vegetables ran out quickly. Larger quantities and better restocking are necessary when hosting big groups. The café should also stay open longer and be available more consistently throughout the experience. The coffee in the cafeteria needs serious improvement — it tasted very poor and the quantity prepared was not enough. Larger batches and better quality coffee would make a noticeable difference. Overall, it was a meaningful experience, but with better cabin and ground lighting, improved restroom access, stronger food planning, extended café hours, and better preparation for large groups, Camp Zephyr could significantly improve the comfort, safety, and overall experience for its guests.

Great place. The scenery was beautiful. My favourite part was the Prayer Garden. It's a beautiful place to go and watch the sunrise while being alone with God. The food was quite good. Sitting around the fire pit was a great way to end the day. The rooms I saw were clean and well kept with the exception of the mildew on the shower curtain and the mold smell coming from the air conditioner unit. I wish there had been an easier way to access the lake, but all in all, the place was wonderful and I hope to visit again soon.

It's a very complete campground that is set up for various types of camping experience. There are traditional camp cabins with multiple bunks, and hotel-like rooms for couples (I've been to a marriage conference there). The cafeteria serves good tasting food (though not always easy to get heart healthy stuff after my heart attack), and the service is great. There are also many activities, from paintball to zip lines to canoeing etc, and an air conditioned gym, a pool, and a swimming pond with slide and blob. And it all overlooks beautiful Lake Corpus Christi.

Spent a week with our church's youth and 16 other churches. Many kids made a decision for Christ. Beyond that, the facility is amazing with 3 different water areas, paint ball arena, sports fields and comfortable dorms.

This is the best Christian camp! The staff and guests work hard to make this a powerful, spiritual experience. My youth group has been here twice, and we hope to continue coming here.
