Overall it was a good experience was very very disappointed that we were not able to go fishing or do the archery due to the wind I was really looking forward to those two events

Our daughter had a great time at Camp Wood. We thought everyone we met was enthusiastic, wanted to make it a great experience and truly had the best interests of the kids driving all they did. She made friends and enjoyed everything- not one complaint. One of the first things she asked if she could return next year.

My son started YMCA camp in Summer 2017 and went to Camp Wood in KS and Camp Classen in OK and he loved it! He made a bunch of friends from different parts of the Midwest at both and enjoyed the cabin living and activities and really enjoyed the counselors. As a parent, the camp staff was very responsive as this was the first sleep-away camp he had ever been to and they were transparent with their procedures to ensure the kids are protected from any shenanigans from either other campers or staff, which was a primary parental concern. He is going again this summer to both and is looking forward to making more memories. Based on our experiences, we highly recommend these YMCA camps.

I have sent my children to Camp Wood for 3 years running, and it gets better every year. They love the counselors, the food, the fun and the friendships they've made. My son wants to be a counselor in training next year. Great people. Beautiful camp. 2 thumbs up.
