Camp Wildcat is a student-run nonprofit at the University of Arizona that provides free weekend-long overnight camps and day activities for Tucson youth, many from Title I schools. Volunteers run several weekend camps a year for 4th and 5th graders and backpacking trips for 7th and 8th graders, with all meals and supplies provided at no cost.

The mission of helping disadvantaged local youth through outdoor experiences had such an impact on the children and of course us. When I was active there were several counselors that had actually been campers when they were younger and told us of the importance of that experience and how it led them to pursue their education.
