Camp Tanager is a nonprofit summer camp on a 40-acre site near Mount Vernon, operating since 1926 and run by Tanager Place. It offers both day and overnight programs for children roughly ages 5–11, with weekly themes and activities including two swimming pools, archery, basketball, pickleball, nature programs, and group games. The camp serves more than 1,000 children each summer.

★★★Tanya AdamsI had my girls attend camp when they were younger and was always a good experience. I now have my grandson who is 9 and does have behavioral challenges due to ADHD and anxiety. This was known by the camp prior to attending. Seems they are not equipped to deal with these challenges and he was treated pretty harshly and I had to get him 2 days early. He won't be attending again.
★★★★★Dani AllensworthMy son and daughter are both having a terrific time at Camp Tanager! We only signed up for day camp, but they are already talking about wanting to try an overnight camp. It can't be over-stated what a big deal that is for my kids, especially my daughter who tends to be nervous and typically has a lot of separation anxiety. The staff have done a great job making sure they are comfortable and are having fun. The kids also like that they have some choices in which activities they participate in, with my daughter spending more time doing crafts and my son opting for sports. The pool, especially the obstacle course they do on Wednesdays, was a huge hit with both my kids.

The camp songs they sung for the parents are completely inappropriate for children and have no relation the camp anything and my 7 year old daughter brought home a giant attitude AND apparently politics were talked about to these children because the only thing she learned there was that "Trump is bad". The Woke culture is very strong there which I don't have an issue with UNTIL it's affecting my child in a negative way and I am HIGHLY pissed that we spent $400+ for this joke of a camp where she learned ZERO skills this camp is intended for. DO BETTER!
★★★★★Summer WI went here maybe like 25 years ago and I still remember so much. All the songs we sang, the horses, campfires, etc. I’m glad to see it still around, I wish I lived in Iowa still. We don’t have anything like it in Utah where I live. I’m thinking about sending my daughter there when she’s older.
