Staff was energetic and very helpful. Dining hall staff was cheerful and the food was filling and plentiful. Daily evening programs entertained both Scouts and Scouters. I highly recommend this camp for Summer Camp
★★★★★Nathan MartinThis is a great Scouting BSA camp with a dedicated staff! There are tons of trails and the buildings are older, but well kept. In the session I attended with my son, they provide a series of fun classes that work on a handful of Cub scout requirements and electives. The staff has a good time and the kids really respond to that! There are some tips you should be aware of if you/your scout decide to come out. 1) There is a decent raccoon population in the forest. Food should be kept in an air-tight, durable container (or in your car). Otherwise, you may have an unwelcome guest visit your tent! 2) Ticks are a real hazard on the trails. Pants are recommended! 3) Latrines are setup at the campsites and many of the further out locations of the camp. Portables have also been placed about for your convenience. If these options make a member of your camp nervous, there are regular toilets available in the pool/shower house and visitor's restroom. Other than that, remember your Six Essentials, comfortable hiking boots, and just have fun!
