Counselors were all so young and knew nothing. All rude. Never knew my kids names. Kids came home with some horrible stories about this place of what they’ve seen happen or heard. Was told positive things ,which is why we attended first year, then the next year we attended we overheard that one of management slept with another coworker/counselor several years before. Thats definitely not work friendly. Never will see my family close to here again. Who knows what else they have done. Also overheard at pickup the last week that the staff was going to have a party and drink. None of them looked old enough. Who supplies the alcohol for these underage children and why are the owners fine with underage drinking on their property? This place is highly inappropriate for young children.

Look, I have no idea where these other random five star reviews are coming from. This camp is a total mess. My kid came home crying 5 out of the 6 days he attended. (The 7th I let him skip because he was so upset). There’s no regulation of child behavior. According to my child, there’s tons of bullying that happens that goes completely unnoticed by counselors and other positions of authority. Disappointed.

I can’t say enough bad things about this place. The food, the counselors, the false advertising, and the overall poor quality. I saw another of you about the lack of activities for older kids, which is 100% true at least for my child. Seems like there’s not much other to do for them than to sit under a tree or walk around. All the little kids have whole cabins of activities and such, the older kids have nothing more than themselves to find entertainment. Would not recommend sending your child to this “camp”.

Total nightmare. I attended this camp one summer a couple years ago. I still hold trauma and memories from this experience. I was verbally and emotionally abused by counselors working at various activities, which I won’t address by their names. When I was falsely accused of “talking back to a counselor”, I was forced to go to the directors office, get yelled at, forced to skip lunch, and then forced to “pick up rocks” on the drive way. I was a young, emotionally sensitive child who wasn’t even sure what was going on. I have a vivid memory of me crouching on that rock driveway in front of all the other kids eating lunch while I was forced to pick up rocks off the grass and put them back in the driveway. I was sobbing. They didn’t care whatsoever. There were so many other mid-handled situations at this camp that I recall. I don’t think it’s smart to send a child into a place run by adults with little to zero self control.

Camp Deer Creek is good. Our 6 year old has absolutely loved every day and she’s been there for almost 5 weeks. Tons of activities, plenty of playing with friends and solid lunches for the kids. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that they should update the outdated Native American influenced group names. We emailed them about this and an issue of our kids repeating swear words they heard from counselors but they never bothered to respond. We go to a different camp now.
