Camp Burnamwood is the camp and conference center of the Presbytery of Transylvania, set on 500 acres between the Appalachian foothills and the Bluegrass near Irvine. Established in 1958, it runs residential summer camps for students in grades 1 through 12, with sessions grouped for grades 3–5, middle school, and high school. Programming emphasizes outdoor activities, teamwork, leadership, and spiritual growth.

★★★★★Tara ThomasWent here as a kid and it truly changed me. I went through three different camp styles that they offered (all in different years of course). The support and skills I learned in nature summer camp really got me through some hard times. They offered typical planned out summer camp activities, as well as optional worship style activities and meditation. While they obviously lean very heavily on religion, it does not feel like a religious place. This was very good for me as a teen going through a "phase". I was not huge on the music, arts, and drama camp session they held (forced into this by my parents), but it was very good for the type of kids that enjoy that stuff. The food at both was very delicious and healthy! I was went back for seconds (or thirds!). Cabins were pretty standard. My one complaint was the restroom and shower situation. I was NOT a fan, but who is at summer camp? They also offered a group mission style camp for both adults and teens, which was my absolute favorite. We stayed in a VERY nice and spacious cabin as a group. They kept the kitchen stocked for us (we cooked our own meals, but that wasnt an issue). They also had all volunteer activities for the week preplanned, so there was no stress at all. I fully intend on offering this summer camp to my own children in the future.

★★★★★GREENBLAZE88I went there for a mission trip with my church and I knew after the week of being there that I had to go back soon. I bonded with almost everybody in the group and would love to meet backup with everyone including Michael and Claire they are the best and most welcoming people I have ever met and they helped us through the process of working with the community and around the camp. We all became really close to each other and it was the best experience of my life by far. SoduWoodu, Mountain Mode, floor it, full send, SEND IT!!!
