Calvin Crest is a Christian (Presbyterian-founded, 1954) summer camp and conference center on 340 secluded acres in the Sierra National Forest near Oakhurst, about 30 minutes from Yosemite. It hosts overnight Christian camp sessions for third graders through recent high-school graduates - including Sherwood (grades 3-5), Junior High, High School, and Outdoor Adventure camps - plus family camps and a Discovery Day Camp. Activities include boating, swimming, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, a ropes course, and arts and crafts.

★Brandy ErvinMy daughter just got back from camp 10/31/25. She expressed that seeing as she couldn’t take snacks (she’s lactose intolerant) and expressed the food there was not good. She stuck with salads (luckily she eats those here at home) but also shared that the food her classmates were eating during the week was making their stomachs hurt. She expressed the cabin had a lizard in her bed and spiders on the ceiling and shared that the water in the cabins for showering was either super cold or very hot. Just a concerned parent. I work in the food industry and do not think the snack restrictions (students can’t take snacks) should be applied to those with dietary restrictions. Hopefully some other concerned parents from Manchester gate will voice up that their child experienced upset stomach’s due to the food intake, not because they were “jumping around” during activities. I feel most leaders there dismissed the concern the kids were voicing.
