The Buras YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New Orleans (South Plaquemines), offers summer day camp for children ages 5–12. Campers take part in themed weeks with sports, indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, and fitness. Camp fees are waived for the South Plaquemines branches, making it a free program for local families.

★★★★David JonasPretty nice, clean YMCA. I've never used any of their youth programs, but they do seem to have a fair bit and the kids involved do seem to enjoy it. There is a fair bit of exercise equipment, but it can get a bit crowded with any more than five people at one time. A full selection of dumbbells and a Smith machine, several treadmills and exercise bikes, but no stair machine. All in all, a pretty good place to work out but choose your time wisely.
