Blackbeard Sailing Club in New Bern is the home of the Edward Teach Youth Sailing Association (ETYSA), which runs week-long youth summer sailing camps on the water there. Monday-Friday sessions (about 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.) group kids by experience from Learn to Sail beginners through intermediate and Learn to Race weeks. Campers must turn 8 by October 1 and be competent swimmers; US Coast Guard and US Sailing-certified coaches lead the program.

Powered by GoogleI'm not a member, but I've been a guest many times. I've always been greeted warmly. I have observed more experienced boaters helping those who are still learning. The grounds are well-maintained and the clubhouse is clean and neat. My son has enjoyed Ed Teach sailing camp for a couple years and is looking forward to this coming season as well. I raced out of there a couple times. Blackbeard Sailing Club has it together.
Love it! Excellent boat lauch, docks well maintained with power/ water/ wifi and pumpout available. Wet and dry slips. Club members friendly..good camraderie. Racers, cruisers and social members all welcome. Summer sailing for youths offered as well.
This is a sailor's paradise. Great facility, deep water slips, and boats that actually leave the dock on a regular basis.
Great club. Welcoming and friendly place. Easy launching. Nice fleet of Sunfish and strong junior program
Members only except for open events. Docks with shore power, multiple WI-FI connections. Space for trailer sailers with concrete launch ramps. Excellent heads with showers. Clubhouse facilities include spacious multi-level deck, full kitchen, lounging area, and large dining area. A++
