Black Girls Tennis Club is a nonprofit founded in 2022 by Hampton Roads natives Kimberly Selden and Virginia Thornton to introduce Black girls to tennis alongside a broader focus on confidence and wellness. Its Hampton Roads Youth Summer Camp ran seven weeks at Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, teaching girls to play, build skills and compete as a team, and closing with a Family Love event where campers demonstrated what they learned and received certificates and player cards. The organization's youth programming is delivered largely as free clinics reaching roughly 150 girls a year; 2026 camp dates had not been posted at the time of review.
